1. What do want to accomplish from the discussion in terms of the best possible outcome?

2. What do you anticipate will be the others’ reactions, and what is the best way to handle each one?

3. What issues could arise during the discussion?

4. How will you address each of the issues?

5. Which of your communication tendencies do you need to manage?

6. How do the other participants in the conversation prefer to be communicated with, and how will they react to the topic being discussed?

By spending just a few minutes planning each conversation or meeting, you will be able to more effectively and efficiently communicate to achieve your desired outcome.
